before & after

a conversation before church...

Ryan: "Now we have to get ready for church?"
Luke: "Yep."
Ryan: "Oh, but I don't like church."
Luke: "Well just fall asleep in it then."

a conversation after church...

Cody: "I want two sisters. I wonder what it would be like to have a sister?"
Luke: "It would be like having a brother with long hair."
Cody then keeps telling Heath and I that he REALLY wants some sisters. We have no idea where this is coming from but had to tell him that sorry but he is stuck with two brothers and that's it.

Happy Sunday!

hey batter batter

Luke finally got his turn on Thursday to play some ball.
Some of the boys' games fall on the same nights so we have to split up, Heath went to Cody's and Ryan and I went to Luke's. Luke originally wanted Heath to go to his game first but then at the last minute he changed his mind and picked me (which I was happy about so I could take some pictures). It's crazy to think that this is his third year playing t-ball. Luke started out playing first base, then pitcher, and then finished up in center field. He had some good swings and hit the ball and made it around the bases each time. He had a lot of fun hanging out with his friends and cheering on his team.

throwing to first

talking with his buddy

batter up
running fast to first base

crossing home plate
by the end of the game his baseball pants turned into knickers
cheering on his team
Awesome job Luke!

let's play ball

Monday was Cody's first machine pitch baseball game ever.
With only having two practices and chances to even try out the pitch machine we didn't know how the kids would do, but they kids did great! They were a lot of fun to watch and even though there was still a little confusion on where to run or throw the ball, they had a good understanding of the game. Cody played center field throughout the game and even though he didn't get too much action out there he didn't seem to mind. He had two chances up to bat and got a hit one time and made it base. He told me his favorite part of the game was hanging out behind the backstop and talking with his friends and cheering on his teammates.
Go Rockets!

Way to make us proud "D".
Luke's first game was rained out Tuesday so hopefully tomorrow he will get a chance to play.

Friday's Five

1. Just loving the sunshine that we are having, it feels so good!
2. Started our day out rough with Luke waking up at 3 AM screaming in pain from an ear infection, thankfully I had some antibiotics here to start treating him with and he didn't have to miss school. Not so great for me was taking a new antibiotic on an empty stomach and throwing up this morning, I won't make that mistake again.
3. Laughing thinking of Cody and his first experience with wearing a cup for baseball. He didn't seem the least bit embarrassed when I was explaining it all to him and first thing when we got to the field he started talking to his friends about it and showing them how he could knock on it and it didn't hurt.
4. With at least three practices to go to in a week the boys have been playing SO hard that it has been so easy to put everyone to bed at night, no sneaking out of bed, no calling for me because they forgot to tell me one more thing, we read stories, say prayers, tuck them in, kiss them good night and they are out!
5. Seeing how much the boys have improved from playing last year. Luke is still in T-ball and has a lot better understanding of the game, he looks over at us whenever he makes a good play and is so proud of himself. Cody is in machine pitch and is really getting some good hits and even tried out playing catcher one time. We are looking forward to next week when the games start up!

SmAsH 'em AND cRaSh 'em

This little boy couldn't wait to get his birthday started asking me first thing, "it my birthday now?".
Opening presents at the crack of dawn.. 6:15am
His choice of jammies always makes us laugh, buzz lightyear shirt & lightening mcqueen pants.

This is Ryan's first friends birthday party, it's a Monster Truck Party!
His awesome invitations! (thanks Amanda)
Ryan kept saying to us all day, "My neck hurts" whenever we tried taking pictures.
Finally I found a monster truck shirt, for some reason when you need one they are hard to find.
Ryan and his best pal Ash.
Who knew coloring monster truck pictures would be such a big hit.
A few games.
Bean bag toss into a tire and
Musical Monster trucks.

The mini monster truck party favors were lots of fun.

Brownies and Ice Cream

Ryan kept looking at me to see when he should blow out his candle.
My sweet boy
A few reasons why we love having this little boy in our family.
his blue eyes and toothless smile
how he uses the word AWESOME all the time
his sense of style and how he loves to wear his hat backwards
when he pretends to burp just to get people to laugh
he let's us eat the sugars on his neck
he loves his preschool and his teacher, he enjoys learning
whenever he asks me if I need a snuggle buddy and cuddles with me on the couch
he loves his bedtime stories, especially when it's mom's night to read
how he always has a favorite toy that he carries around with him (lately it's been a bionicle mask or a small spiderman) and whenever we lose them life is horrible for us until they are found
he adores his big brothers
he tells me, "it okay if you say darn-it but you not say dammit, that naughty"
he doesn't like to be called Rye Rye anymore
he talks ALL the time
he loves bionicles, spiderman, and bumble bee transformers, really just about any toy though
he has to join the big boys anytime they have homework to do
he holds out his hands as far as they can go and tells you he loves you this much
he isn't the best sleeper or eater but has quite the personality
Ryan we think you are one awesome boy!

Easter

Easter could of been almost perfect if...
the boys didn't try waking us up from 2:30am on constantly (they were beyond excited and I was beyond annoyed)
the whole family could of been there (Brooke and Summer both had to work)
and if the weather wasn't so darn cold and windy.

Boyz-n-the hood
