Memorial Day

Everyday in May is officially done!

had a very relaxed and quiet morning

the boys have been asking me when we were going back to the cemetery

so we went today with notes and some peonies

invited ourselves to a BBQ at Matt's house

(ribs, corn on the cob, rolls, a dutch oven dessert-it was great!)

home to bed and getting ready for the week ahead

just a few more days of school left

a birthday to celebrate

a Kindergarten graduation

and then it's off to Yellowstone

a vacation we are all looking forward too!

Believe it or not we actually had games last night.

The weather cleared up just long enough to enjoy the boy's last ball games.

Heath, Ryan & Jim headed to Cody's game and then met up with my sister, Hailey and me

at Luke's game afterwards. Thanks for coming!

Luke had a great season of playing. He had fun, made new friends and really improved on his game. Whenever Luke would look over at us and see us clapping for him he would always start clapping too, he would be so proud of himself.

So Ryan didn't really know what to think when we talked about his preschool graduation. He had no idea what that meant until Luke started explaining to him what it was all about,

"Ryan it's when you teach your mom's and dad's things you learned, sing songs and then eat cookies and brownies!" Ryan couldn't wait to go then and throughout the whole graduation ceremony every time they got through with a song he would say loudly, "Now it time to eat a cookie?" What a character this kid is! He really has loved school, his new friends, his teacher Miss Erin, the learning and I've found out he is very independent, likes to talk a lot, doesn't mind being the center of attention, and is quite funny.

It was a fun day to help him celebrate, way to go Ryan!

Last night was more than likely Cody's last baseball game seeing that tomorrow's forecast says 100% chance of rain. Even though Cody got a couple of good hits, you can tell that he is burned out with everything, the boy is tired. He would ask me after every inning, how much more time until we are done?

Have I said before, that all of us are so ready for summer break?

We were so proud of him this season, he really has learned and improved so much and it was just a lot of fun to watch him.

Okay so like I said in my previous post we had a long time to wait until

Brooke's graduation actually started so the best way to make the time go by

a little faster is by...

PEOPLE WATCHING.

This can be quite entertaining and often leaves you asking the question...

What were they thinking?

I do know this isn't the nicest thing to be doing and judging others

isn't very christian but,

with that said...

This guy got my number one vote!

Hip Hip Hooray!

It's been a long time since I've been to a graduation and never one with the kids, but

I must say everyone did extremely well considering we were there an hour before it started to

get a good seat (top row of the bleachers so Heath could have the wall as a backrest.)

Luckily Brooke was one of only 56 graduates so the ceremony wasn't too long.

She missed being the Salutatorian by only .03 of a point, it was so close!

Way to work hard Brooke, we are proud of you!

Luke overheard a conversation about college and kept telling us that Brooke was already in college and we kept telling him no she is just graduating high school she hasn't gone to college yet to which he replied, "Yeah she has gone to college because remember she already has a job!"

Apparently he thought you can only get a job if you have gone to college, thankfully that is not the case because many people would be in trouble, including myself!

Sunday

Today we celebrated Brooke's graduation (a day early).

Thankful the weather was beautiful considering what we had just yesterday, rain & snow.

The food, the company, the fun...it was a good day all together.

So we aren't the most mature family there is, but we know how to have a good time

and we love to laugh!

Our day didn't go quite as I had planned but what do you do?

Had a lazy morning of watching tv

Heath bought me concert tickets so I could see my singing cowboys

Left the disaster of a house behind us and headed to town

It was Subway for lunch

A trip to the doctors for Ryan

Just like I had suspected....an ear infection

A surprise movie for the kids (Diary of a Wimpy Kid)

Stopped to get the prescription and arrived back home

We cleaned the disaster

Ate a little dinner

Ice cream cones for dessert

A redbox movie for the family (The Spy Next Door)

A lazy evening of hanging out

Oh yeah, and it rained all day long!

The Weekend

Couldn't be happier that the weekend is here.

We made it.

We survived another week of baseball and school.

It's been a long week and we are all feeling it.

The kids are grumpy and so am I , my patience are gone and we all need to just relax.

Thankfully the end is near.

School and sports are coming to an end.

Even though the weather doesn't even look close to great,

We got to have this girl hang out with us all day and it we had a blast.

It's crazy to think that she is graduating on MONDAY!

We all remember the day my sister brought her home from the hospital.

We were also excited that she changed her mind on moving away right after graduation,

now she is going to hang out for at least the summer so we get to enjoy her for longer.

No one was ready for her to leave and to say good-bye!

Today was fun.

It was good to be silly, crazy and just laugh.

What a goofball, she is a funny girl.

The kids loved having her here especially when she filmed them acting out scenes and turned it into a movie called Jail Breakout.

We also looked at her prom pictures and thought it would be fun for her to try on my old prom dress.

So here she is rockin my dress from 1994!

I loved today, thanks Brookie!

Cody's Mother's Day Celebration at Preschool

This boy makes us laugh on a daily basis.

Last week it was about this...

that took place at Luke's t-ball game that the girls came to.

Cody: That is your future wife, who you are gonna marry.

What a funny boy to have his future already planned out.

We do hope it will end up with someone like Abigail!

Our Sunday

went a little something like this...

ate breakfast burritos

went to church

the boys started cleaning and doing chores

(they had lots to do from not listening and had lost tv, video games, computer and play dates)

quiet time for the boys watching a movie while I napped on the couch

a paper mache art project (what a huge mess this was)

outside play in the sprinkler

played scrabble with Cody while Heath did homework with Luke & Ryan

chicken, potatoes & zucchini for dinner

off to the school playground (fetch, sprinklers and basketball)

buzzed haircuts for the boys

back downstairs to watch a movie with Heath

it felt good having a day at home to just do whatever
