Matt's Competition

The State Truck Driving Championships were today and

Matt was back at it again.

This year he wanted to try something new so he entered into the 4 axle division.

It was also the FIRST time he has ever pulled a 53 foot trailer, there was no practicing before hand because FedEx didn't have any trailers that size.

So we thought it was pretty AWESOME that he placed 2nd today and we got to be there to watch him!

The last three years he has entered into the 3 axle division and had placed 2nd (2009), 1st (2008) and 3rd (2007).

reading a card from Amanda that says, "Isn't it funny how the kids think we get together so they can play?"

having Cody tell us that sometimes on recess he sits next to the wall waiting to be the first one back in the classroom because he is excited about something they are going to start learning.

hearing Luke's coach refer to him as "Lukey"

after Cody saw how upset Luke was when he couldn't find his library book on library day, he went and talked with the Librarian himself to find out if Luke even had a book checked out and what it was, he didn't know that I had already gone in to check on it that same morning.

after Luke played a part in Ryan falling down on a walk, I told Luke that he was going to lose something for that, I didn't know what it was going to be but it was going to be one of his favorite things. Very matter of fact Luke replied, "Well your my favorite thing, so I lose you!" Normally this shouldn't make a parent smile but how could you not with that good comeback and just knowing my stubborn Luke.

Ryan finding a "pet" ant today and then losing it after it crawled up his arm and went in his armpit. Ryan took his shirt off looking all over for him but could never find where he ended up.

watching Cody playing pitcher (machine pitch) tonight in his game. catching a pop fly and without hesitating at all, throwing it straight to first and making a double play. we were all so excited and to see the look on his face was priceless.

May 2006

Life with three boys had barely started for us.

Ryan was just over a month old, Luke 2 1/2, & Cody 5.

Look at those dark brown eyes, sweet ears, matching white t-shirts, brotherly love and of course those favorite blankets.

Ryan changed so much, the only boy getting his daddy's bright blue eyes and his blond hair that eventually turned darker.

That was only four years ago but seems like a lifetime, I miss those days.

Life is so different now, but just as good!

Who am I kidding, it probably wouldn't of mattered when we took the photo.
Oh well, I still love these boys and am so proud to be their mom.

This is the best job ever...the good the bad & the ugly, I wouldn't trade it for anything!

It was a busy weekend getting ready for the party.

There was cleaning, yardwork and planting.

By the time we got it all done, the family was arriving.

The cousins kept the boys busy with boardgames and wiffle ball.

The food was yummy and the desserts even yummier.

There were many presents to be opened.

There was visiting, kid watching, and just enjoying eveyone's company.

Then it was time for a video in honor of Brooke graduating, something we've been working on.

It was a surprise to most of the family and was really special considering some big changes that Brooke is about to make.

There was plenty of laughing throughout the day but nothing got more laughs than this card given to my dad for his birthday.

The boys couldn't stop laughing, they thought it was the funniest thing ever.

What a fun day to celebrate with the family!
